Applicants under the KVPY stream, interested in admissions to the five year BS-MS Dual Degree Programme for the academic session starting in August 2013 at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research located at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram, can apply online at http://iiser-admissions.in/applykvpy.php till 3rd July, 2013.
To apply under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) stream of admission, applicant should have qualified in SA (2011)/SX(2012)/SB (2012)/SP (Passed Class XII in 2012/2013).
Before filling up online application form, applicant should keep a jpg file of his/her recent passport size photograph for uploading in the form with size not more than 100 KB. The file name should be with alphanumeric characters only, without any gap, dot or any other character in between.
Applicant will have to give the full Name as in the Class 10 Board examination certificate, Date of birth as in the Class 10 board examination certificate, Gender, Category(GE/SC/ST/OBC) under which admission is sought etc while filling the application. Those seeking admission under any of the reserved categories SC, ST, and OBC (Non-creamy), must produce appropriate category certificate at the time of counseling. Applicants seeking admission under OBC category must belong to non-creamy layer of the Central List of Government of India. These candidates must obtain non-creamy layer certificate issued by appropriate authority after March 31, 2013 only on the prescribed format. Applicants will also have to fill other details regarding PD category (if applicable), year of passing of Class 12, Name of parent / guardian, Address for communication, PIN code, Phone / Mobile Number, Email address and KVPY Seat Number. Applicants of SP stream should give their KVPY Application Number.
Applicant will also have to select one of the 5 IISERS where they would like to attend the counselling. They will also have to give the choice of IISER whey they prefer to get admission. Applicant can select all five IISERs in order of preference for this. Applications with incomplete selection will not be accepted by the system.
Some characters like Single quote ( ' ), Double quote ( " ) and backslash ( \ ) are not accepted in the form. The form will be returned for correction if these characters are found on the application form.
After submission of all the details, applicant can preview the form. If there are errors in the data submitted, applicant may use edit button and revise/modify the Online Application Form entries. After the applicant is convinced that all the entries are correct, applicant may click on the submit button on the preview screen. After this submission, applicant will be given his/her Application Number and Login Password to login to the admission website. Applicants have to use this password for all subsequent access to the admission website. If applicant forgets his/her password, he/she may go to Applicants Login page and click Forgot Password link. Password will be sent to the applicant by email.
In the next stage, applicant will be prompted to get a bank-pay-in slip which has to be printed. Applicant should go to any branch of State Bank of India, with this challan, on the next working day, to pay application fee which is Rs.600/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 300/- for SC / ST categories. Rs.20/- will have to be paid as bank charges. Applicant should write down the Bank Branch Code and date of deposition on the pay-in-slip. Applicants should not tamper with the barcode printed on the bank-pay-in slip.
While accepting the application fee, the bank official will give a Unique Journal Number on the pay-in-slip. Applicant should check that the bank official has entered the Unique Journal Number on the counter foil of the applicant’s pay-in-slip.
After remittance of fee, the applicant should go to the Applicants Login page. On login, applicant will have to enter the Unique Journal Number given by the Bank in the pay-in-slip, Bank Branch Code and the date of deposition and submit.
Applicant will be prompted to upload his/her passport size photograph as per the specifications. On successful completion, applicant will be prompted to get his/her completed application. This should be printed on a good quality A4 size paper and kept along with the counter foil of bank pay-in-slip. These documents will be required at the time of counseling.
The candidate and his/her parent/guardian should read the undertaking very carefully and should sign at the bottom of the print out of the application. When called for counseling, he/she should bring this completed application form and counterfoil of bank pay-in-slip for verification. Applicant should not tamper the barcode printed on the application form.
Online applications will be received under the KVPY Scheme up to 3rd July, 2013. Of the 750 seats in the 5 IISERs, up to 25% seats in each category (General/SC/ST/OBC Non-creamy) will be through KVPY channel. All five IISERs admit students through a common application and counselling process. Applicant will have facility to give preferences in the application form for the different IISERs. Allotment is purely on the basis of the applicant's preferences and the ranks as applicable to the concerned stream.
